Recorded in Book A of Declarations Pages 74 & 75. "Know all men by these present that I Julia Pelarey a married woman residing in the County of Santa Clara and State of California and wife of Bertrand Pelarey of said County do hereby publish and declare that from and after this date it is bona fida my intention to carry on business in my own name and on my own account as a sole trader in said county in accordance with the Statute in such case made and provided that said business consists in running a line of stages for the carriage of passengers from and to the City of San Jose and the town of Santa Clara or purchasing such coaches and stock as may be necessary to carry on the same and that from and after this date I will be responsible for all debts individually in my own name, contracted by me for or on account of my said business." |
